THESE Roots

(Web, Series; 2021- )

Director of photography/editor
(On Going)

Bringing "These Roots" to life is the most fulfilling work i will probably ever do as it shines an essential light on untold stories of everyday black people  in various points in history.
I was brought on as a DP/editor for these roots and it has been a spectacular ride working with/collaborating with Living historian cheney mcKnight as working under her direction has been among the most creatively freeing experiences in my entire career!

My experience in shooting run and gun setups has helped tremendously as there have been instances in which conditions have had us switch up the shot on the day and still produce a quality video that is true to the spirit of the project.
A personal favorite tidbit about this project was creating the look of title motif and the title for each episode! If you look closely, The color scheme for each episode title is an easter egg.
the inaugural episode has exceeded 2 Million views on youtube!

The Return Of Brian Willing
(Web, short; 2019-2020)

Director of photography/editor

Was brought onto capture and edit youtube mini episodes as a prologue to a future Television series. (From Mini episode 2 and Onward)
In addition to dispensing a second perspective (when necessary), Working with Director Anthony Aibel on set has brought my varied run-and-gun experience to the forefront as we look for ways to best showcase the (mis)adventures of this confused but earnest news reporter.
Below is one of my favorite episodes to have worked on which, fun fact: is also known as whacked! on Imdb. I just really love how the color came out on this.
The second video is the Climate cheer. See, in between takes, the girls were riffing and messing around and came up with this nifty little cheer. So I came up with this when anthony wanted lyrics to go with the video.
I could go on about delightful factoids on each episode but you can find the entire run of Brian willing on youtube where you can like and Subscribe for updated videos.

"SEPARATION"
(Short, 2019)
Co-Director / Director of Photography / Editor
Emily Bayard Blake reached out to me and asked me to collaborate on this passion Project she had in mind.
What followed was an amazing Collaboration as We both came to the conclusion that the best way we could do this project is to co-Direct it. This involved utilizing both of our strengths into creating something special and Relevant.
To add the cherry on the wonderful Cake, I also designed the poster you see next to you in Adobe Photoshop;
So I got that going for me too!

Director of Photography
Other than working with Intuitive Director, Rick Hamilton, What I remember most about Shooting "Seeing Glory" was the variety of visual methods that were utilized in capturing his vision.

Whether it was implementing the Dolly Move in certain portions of the film or capturing the action through my specialty cine lens, Being able to tastefully add a bit of visual spice to this Multi award winning, multi-layered film on Dementia that lovingly pays homage to Virginia woolf.
